Orekit seems does not consider the lifting force?
I'm using the experimental "BoxAndSolarArraySpacecraft.java" class, and I have a question about the modeling of the air drag force.
I read the code about the method "dragAcceleration" in this class, where it appears that the drag force is calculated along the relative speed direction.
However, according to the discussion on
Page 358 of "2004_Lyon_Geosynchronous orbit determination using space
surveillance network observations and improved radiative force modeling"
(which I obtained from
https://www.orekit.org/forge/projects/orekit/documents, the "Lyon MIT SM
Thesis"),
the lifting force seems to be not along the relative velocity direction.
I'm wondering if Orekit has considered this force somewhere else? I need to figure this out as I'm writing a paper now. If not, do you have any plan to consider this force? Or can you share some information that how much difference might be if the lifting force is omitted?
Thanks.
