Hi @Serrof I no longer have the data that produced the problem, but since the method in question hasn't changed since then, I'd say it's probably still the case.
It seems to me that the fix applied to #1224 (closed) could also solve the current issue, it just needs to be adapted to this 2D case.

This bug no longer occurs on the current dev branch.

Thank you for your analysis. It raises a problem in the definition of some parameters of the JB2008 model and their implementation in Orekit, which deserves a closer examination.
In the meantime, a few tests indicate that the differences in the densities calculated according to one or the other formulation are less than 1.e-7 in relative and 1.e-16 in absolute, which should not call into question the use of JB2008 model in the current state provided by Orekit.
The issue remains open pending further analysis.
